I spent many hours during the early 1940s playing here with my friend Betty Barke. There was a children's nursery in a building next to the swings. I broke my ankle here jumping off a swing and a man carried me into the nursery, where I waited to be taken home and then to hospital. Happy days!

This was a favourite park reached from Holly Park Road through a tunnel under the railway line. A relative of my later wife lived in the road backing the field behind the camera

Wow! The pavillion looks better than I remember it! My Nan and Grandad used to do the cricket teas for the New Southgate social cricket club. Us kids had spam sandwiches coming out of our ears on cricket days. My lovely girl cousins Georgina and Andrea would do the scoring sometimes. Great memories, even though cricket STILL bores the living daylights out of me. Every time I hear 'Soul Limbo' by Booker T and the MG's it brings it all back!

Yes it brings back great memories. I used to do the scorebook for N.S.C.C. mid 1960.s.when Jack Fisk kept wicket. Dave Fisk,Andy Pereira. We even had Cliff Jones left winger for Spurs playing. Great stuff.

N.S.C.C Derek Webb, Colin Hitchens, even big Johnny Dinners, Barry Herbert, Johnny Barnes, Ivor Snelgrove, think that's how his name was spelt, some more of the team, I think Benny Fisk also played.
Sadly some are not with us anymore

Correction; my cousins were too young to do the scoring, there goes my memory! My Auntie used to do it!,
