My Uncle, Fred Ogbourne, was the hon sec for Friern Barnet FC from about 1950 to about 1977. He is the suited man on the right. I have just inherited an archive of around 100 FBFC team photographs from around 1940-1975. This photograph was taken by Ernest Shanklin of 46 Bedford Road Finchley N2, who does not seem to be in business any longer. The only other man I can recognise is Frank Childs, with the light hair on the centre of the front row, who was also the fast bowler for Friern Barnet Cricket Club. It's taken at Underhill in a cup match.

It's actually Summers Lane - My Dad George Favell played for Friern Barnet Boys Club in the mid 1950's - certainly would be interested in seeing other photos from that era

I grew up in Fernwood Crescent in Whetstone. Fred & Flo Ogbourne also lived there with their daughter Anne who I was very good friends with. I remember them well. My dad, Lionel Lucas, played football with Fred in days gone by. My uncle, Harry Lucas, is in this photo - he's the tall chap in the back row with slicked back dark hair (4th from right). I would love to see more photos if possible. Thank you.

I used to know a really nice girl from Fernwood Crescent in the 60s. We all used to meet at the Blue Seas think, her name was Lorna all the best for 2019

Hi all I'm researching Abbey Sports (Now Waltham Abbey FC) and was looking at other clubs in the Northern Suburban League and their Secretary's and came across this site. Indeed Mr Ogbourne appears in a handbook as FB Secretary. Does any of the family happen to have any Northern Suburban League Handbooks that Fred would have had in his collection or indeed anything of the era 50's and 60's? Would love to hear from anyone.
