More like 1991 at a stretch, but really I'd say that pic was taken 1995-2000.

1972 may well be right. That's a Ford Zodiac by the lights. There looks to be a newspaper stand on the island and also there is the 3 minute warning siren on top of the pole. Every now and again it used to get tested, wailing away. Nuclear war was still a real possibility then. The large French style advertising bollard thingys are not there yet. Also the concrete flower troughs placed alongside the road after the bombing are not there. Plus of course - there are parking spaces!!!!!

1972 was when I was living right around the corner and I took this photo.

Definitely 1972, no zig zag lines which came in mid to late 70s. I left Finchley in 72 and this is just how it looked then. Not in a million years would this photo have been taken between 95 and 2000.
