I remember these two concrete chimneys very well. They were clearly visible from the top of my road (Chase Way N14). I seem to remember that one of them had collapsed during a turbulent wind in 1974 and was subsequently replaced by a slightly shorter chimney.

The building to the right of the two chimneys was the Radio Division. I worked there under Brian Jackson on high power SSB HF radio for long distance communication from 1958 to 1960.

Building 8 sticks in my memory as an apprentice we had to do a time in the basement where the Diecasting Dept was. The thing that sticks tightly in my memory was when the foreman there asked me why when I had done somethig stupid had and he asked me why, my reply was "well I assumed....." and his gentle reply was " never assune boy" so I seldom do now
