Lawrence Campe Almshouses, Friern Barnet Lane, N20There are six almshouses which date from 1612 when Lawrence Campe gave money for 'the free harbour and dwelling of twelve persons, or more, for ever'. In 1984 twelve additional dwellings, designed by local architect John Phillips, were added at the rear of the almshouses. Photograph taken in November 2000

The lodge you refer to is actually at the entrance to North Middlesex Golf Club, on the opposite side of Friern Barnet Lane to the almshouses. See picture #2123.
