In 1949 London Transport was suffering from a shortage of buses and resorted to hiring vehicles from coach operators. In Friern Barnet Lane, opposite the Orange Tree a lady boards an already crowded 134 on its way to Highgate. The coach, a Dennis Lancet III with Duple body, belongs to Lees.
